Thanks nawer, I looked on the web at them when Steve suggested it but there were so many different ones and it is all so technical (and we certainly are not) we sort of gave up on it.  The Maplin one does look a bit more simple.

Carol.

Don't go buying anything.

Simply take your battery to a reputable car exhaust/tyre centre to be tested. They will want to keep it for 24-hours and in that time they will put it on charge, once charged they'll then load test it which will indicate if the battery is okay. All that a multimeter does is tell you how much power is in the battery, a load tester will test it's cold cranking amps which will test the state of the battery's cells. Chances are is that your battery has damaged cells. Motor Mover's put allot of demands on a caravans battery which in turn will affect its life span.

When it comes to motor mover faults they are normally narrowed down to two areas. The first being the leisure battery and the second being the movers control board.

Thanks Dave101.  The dealer who recently serviced the caravan and fitted the mover said that it would be nothing to do with the fitting of the mover or the control box.  We have had the battery thoroughly tested at proper battery suppliers and it is fine.  They did say that for a motor mover we should have the bigger batttery which we think we will have to do.  Tried to find Lunar web page to ask the service team there what they felt it could be but all you get is a web page that just gives you all the names of the dealers, so no farther forward there.  Message posts on Lunar forums seem to suggest that Lunar is not a good manufacturer for after sales service.

Going to France soon and will be using the mover fairly often but will just have to chance it and hope for the best.  Buying the bigger battery may help.

Thanks for interest and help received.

Cheers

Carol

We've had our van serviced now. I charged the 110amp battery in my garage for over two days before fitting it back on the van. I didn't use the mover to get the van off the drive & I took the van to the dealers.

I told them I was concerned about the battery & when I colected the van, they told me it had shown no faults. The mover control box had shown faulty & been replaced but the battery was fine.

Yesterday when we were putting some kit in the van ready for next weekend, I witched the panel on & the battery has gone down to 12 volts again. This is in less than two weeks.

When I connected the negative terminal, it did make a noise as contact was made. Everything in the van was switched off but this is still indicating a draw. The dealers told me this is normal because the system needs to power up, is this correct please??

ours is similar

Turn off the aerial boosting box, and you battery will last. Its not your mover.

Turn it on again when you get on site.
