help, i have just bought a freedom sunseeker 3/4 berth caravan and i cant believe it but it leaks! the front left hand corner has a leak, i think its from the metal strip on the outside, (its a foriegn model with the door on the wrong side) the seat, wall and floor under the seat is sodden. it also has a problem with the front window, it seems to have warpped on the top left corner so it doesnt seal properly. i am so annoyed, we live in france and brought it back from the uk and have now found these problems after buying one thinking it shouldnt have damp problems. any ideas on a way to sort them, does anyone know how to take the front window off?
Hi ellieandnick , first thing to do is protect the caravan from any more water getting in , use plastic sheeting . Next email me some pictures both inside and out of the damp area ( the more pictures the better ) ( my address below ) . Have a look at my website and The Fixed it Club members websites to see just what can be repaired and how they went about it . Do feel free to ask as many questions as you like , the fixed is here to help .
Hi ellieandnick sorry to hear about your leaks. I bought a new Freedom and after a few weeks I had a leak under the front middle seating area and the cause of that was where the screws had gone through the wall of the van for the gas regulator and also my front left side leaked and that was also caused by the screws going through the caravan for the front pulling handles when manoeuvring the caravan. I took it back and they resealed them under the caravan warranty and it cured it. I don't know about the windows though I didn't have a problem with those. Hope that helps a bit.
