yup its a leda perle i think, ok when you go this time check the rear corners very very carefully, also see where the seam runs along the sides of the van? check that line inside aswell as the normal places around the front end and walls, and i have a sneaky feeling that van is older than 1994, phone her and ask her for the cris numbers so you can check them out before you go and see it.

I had a newer Perle variant, nice van and had many a good outing. The floor went soft in front of the oven but still got decent money when I part ex'd it.
Thanks for the advice as ever damtnet just wish I could take you guys with me!! Its a very tricky situation being a girl looking for a van with an OH who has no practical ability at al!!
Garry thanks for the link also but my minimum requirement is a cassette toilet !! he he

Well I did kind of guess you were a lady!! Damtnet though you never know some lucky women have these house trained men these days that do all that womens work!!!!!!
The Avondale is off gumtree and as for travel I dont want to be going more than about thirty miles.
Good idea to put a wanted on.
Its just such a minefield of things to look for and so easy it seem to make a costly mistake if only everyone could just be honest about the state condition of their van

well if i was you i would be looking in the supermarkets/corner shops and reading the ads in there too, thing is tho its a sellers market this time of year, best time to buy is october, will keep my eyes open for you tho just in case but i feel that perhaps you are limiting your self a bit to much on the 30 mile radius how about upping that to 70? you stand a far better chance then
could up it to 70 but then its a long way to trek to find out its a crap van!!!! Guess would be workable if I planned on hitting a few in the same area.
I know its totally the wrong time to buy but have got my mind set on it now and with oldest sons birthday weekend a camping trip in july I really dont want to tent!!

hahahhahha you do know that you will be hell bent on getting a caravan to find that your son wants to sleep in the awning dont you? or even worse he then wants his own little tent away from you two
as for 70 miles being a long way tog o how about what we did, saw our van, emptied all the essential gear from the old one in to the car and took it with us and bought the van at 1.30 pm and was set up 50 miles south of it by 6.30 pm, if the van wasnt worth what we hoped it would be then it was fly back home and get the older van out and repack it all pack in.
Think I have a couple of years of number 1 son being in the van yet he's only six. He sobbed hysterically when they took the damp van away and "hated the peole who did that damp!"
Bless hes as desperate for a van as me as his best mates family have one and keep inviting us to go away with them. Problem is we have a tent at the mo and I'm def a fair weather camper when it comes to camping especially when its raining they disappear off to their cosy van and we squelch into our damp dark cold tent!

LOL about sons wanting to sleep in the awning. My ds met a friend who slept in the awning and that was that. He now sleeps in the awning though he is now 11 but was 10 and he loves it. We could easily have bought a 4 berth when it came to buying but just in case he ever wants to sleep in the 'van i like to have a bed for him lol. We are caravanners but he is a tent camper lol.
Keep looking and phoning there is a 'van out there for you but she won't come easy...
