We went to Blackwall Plantation, Derbyshire for the weekend and just can't believe how lucky we were with the weather. I know the weather reports were good but i still didn't quite believe them. I took the brollies and our coats and left them in the 'van all weekend lol. We tried out our new Outdoor Revolution awning with annex and it was actually the 1st time we all were away in the 'van together!
We went so that we could go to Alton Towers Saturday for our dd's 14th birthday. She'd picked Alton Towers for this mythical ride Th13teen but it was closed as were some other rides. I was really disappointed in the place. We had to queue for an hour just to park half hours walk from the park and then to escape and they even had the cheek to make us pay for the privilege of it! I've never known anything so disorganised as that place and wouldn't go there again even if they paid me. At least the weather was glorious!
I'd have loved to have spent the time exploring the lovely scenery in Derbyshire and it is definetely on my To Do again list.
It was our 1st time at a caravan club site having been members of the cc&c previously. Son was disappointed at the no balls rules! And i'd heard that they are strict before so when we pulled up at a pitch that wasn't quite clearly marked we moved to another which was and were glad that we had when we saw someone being told off because they hadn't pitched correctly on that pitch! Then someone else was told off for putting a car on the pitch next to theirs!
Just wish we could have gone for longer. Next trip away is for a week in the IoW in May half term where we get to try out the new full Awning.
