I'm not in the Market for a new van, but I always look at the vans on eBay, I often wonder how many listings that say not damp really are as they say, I know some people are not aware the van has it but I'm sure a lot of sellers do know , so it was nice today to see a few auctions where the seller actually says not only in the listing but in the title caravan ( insert make) with DAMP.
At least the prospective buyers get a choice as to wether they fancy having a go at a damp van.
I am so desperate for a van but so sick of trawling here there and everywhere to look at "supposedly" dry vans!!!
Beginning to think that for my budget £3000 it isnt possible to get a dry van

Oh I'm sorry, still no luck then, I do belive you will find a dampless one soon, for your budget it's not impossible but I know how frustrating trawlling around for a lemon can be.
It would be unwise for any ebay seller to state that 'van is dry'. Its best to put 'no damp that I can find' or similar. Many sellers do not take enough care with the wording on their listings. They leave themselves open to legal action.
Oh I agree to say no damp I can find at least covers themselves and then it's up to the buyer to go armed with a meter, but the amount of listings that say no damp dry as a bone ect ect always makes ne think, it's nice though that the sellers is being upfront about it and they are still getting a fair price for it just for being truthfull

What legal action do you have on eBay with a private seller - you can't even get your money back on a caravan if you pay by PayPal and that goes for a business seller as well. No doubt you would be able to if you paid by CC via PayPal but PayPal doesn't like you doing that.

There is a case in America (so soon over here) where a buyer was unhappy with is purchase and he justifiably left poor feedback. Turned out the seller was the top banana in personal injury litigation and he is now sueing the buyer for destroying the sellers reputation.
Jennifer - to be honest I'm not fussy about layout as long as its a 4 or even 5 birth could be end bunk, side dinette or double either ends just as long as its not DAMP!

A bit at least. There was a long running thread on moneysavingexpert forum & there was a thread about that thread on here. To cut a long story short. an ebay seller of a caravan was successfully sued in the small claims court for return of money paid for a caravan that the buyer claimed did not match the description on the ebay listing. I have done a search on moneysavingexpert forum & have found that the thread has been removed. It ran for 100s of posts. I'm sure somebody on here will remember it.
