Does anyone on here own the Insignia awning or seen one in the flesh as I fancy the charcoal one which is out of stock currently however, it seems a good price at £499 for a size 16. (Sterling Elite Searcher size).
Thanks
------------- Albino, Can"t say fairer than that !
We got one at the NEC, for a good price too with an extra 10% off. Don't know if it's the same as the Dorema but we were pleased with it. Used it for the first time over Easter weekend - weather was awful but it stood up to wind and rain. Our friends were impressed and they have more experience with awnings. Just a couple of little things, the spiky bits were missing from the awning poles so we had to "make do" over the weekend, but I rang towsure and they knew instantly what I needed and posted them out and I received them within a few days. The other thing was one of the panels was already zipped in and when we tried to remove it as we were taking it down we noticed that the machinist had sewed right across the zip. We will need to look at it when we next put it up, hopefully a couple of "snips" should free the zip without causing too much damage. But I have to say for not much more than £300 it was a bargain. We're really pleased with it.
We've got a charcoal Insignia awning (size 13 I think). Piece of cake to put up, all the zips seem pretty good and the poles are really light with good clamps. Curtains have got a really ropey pattern on them but we never use them (too chintzy & twee!)
Towsure told me they're made by Pyramid so all their accessories will fit (we got the storm awning strap thrown in). Didn't this awning win some mag's "awning of the year"(!) award recently...?

I have an Insignia full awning (got it last year when it was first out). Absolutely brilliant. Have since bought a Bradcot porch awning and it was such a faff to put up in comparison to the Insignia that I sold it after one outing! Have now got my sights on an Insignia porch awning.
The Insignia keeps it simple. No fancy gadgets - just very sturdy lightweight poles with a good clamping system. It also one of the only awnings on the market in grey (I didn't want the standard green, red or blue!). Agree with Badabing, it is made by Pyramid and we too got the storm straps which were brilliant when we camped in 3 days of gale force winds last summer!
Also, you don't feel like you've been ripped off like with some other brands - it is excellent value for money. Can recommend.
