And it was brilliant . Sunshine all the time was a big bonus . Everything works as it should . The bed is comfy , what more could I ask .

Sorted out the awnings that came with it . we have a fab apache porch awning with a tall annexe and a trio sombrero full awning .

Both in excellent condition .

The porch awning is the easiest awning I've ever used , it went up in half the time with no trouble at all, and the annexe was a doddle to attach.

I think it will be big enough with the annexe attached so we may never have to use the full awning.

Think we have also identified the 2 annexes that came with the van , but dont fit either awning, looks like they are a for a dorema madison , so they will be up for sale , and maybe looking for a second annexe for the apache.
The best part was when we got home there was no packing away of piles of equipment like we had with the tents . Just put a small bag of washing in the machine and feet up , bliss!!
Looking forward to next time .

Glad you had a good time Debbie what fab weather you had for a first outing. So you finally got the awning poles sorted then!

So glad you had a good time. How did you get on with towing - was it nerve-wracking?

Well done, glad your new van worked out for you Debbie. The Dorema annexes you have for sale may find a home on here, I'm sure there was two people saying they were wanting them last week. Not sure where on the site their threads are though but let's hope they read this one.

Thanks everyone ,

Towing was okay Homebird ,not nerve racking at all, I don't drive LOL.

But hubby was okay with it though , he isnt very keen but he manages it fine ,he has a bit of experience its not our first caravan, we've had a few over the years .

Terry there are 2 annexes, one tall and one sloping one . No inner tents with them . they are blue , the zips are ykk zips , measuring 530cm . they are single zip (ie you cant zip the existing panel back in after the annex is in place to close it off from the awning )They are for a complete zip out panel , they dont slide into the rail .

I have been looking on ebay and there are a couple on that look to be the same design colourway which state they are for dorema madison 2004 awnings .

I hope to contact dorema tomorrow by phone to confirm with them that this is correct . Dorema annexes are not one size fits all apparently .
I was hoping to sell the 2 together for £150 .

That is definetely one of the joys of caravanning.  Everything stays in the 'van apart from clothes.  And the bedding of course but that can stay in the 'van for a few days if need be if you can't wash it straight away.  I even have raincoats and boots that stay in the 'van so that we can never forget them lol.

I leave clothes in there too,I have a couple of sets of clothes we only wear for camping .the front locker is already full of wellies and crocs so they dont need packing each time. That reminds me ,my camping coat has to go in next time , too , didnt need it this time .

I must be a scruff cos I leave the sleeping bags in there for ages and only change the pillow cases lol. I have just wahed all the sleepin bags though.

I have also put tumble dryer sheets in the wardrobe with the clothes and towels and under the seats with the bedding so they always smell nice and fresh .
