I would guess rear fog lights, maybe fog light one side, reversing light the other.

Just had a look at mine; both are red so, guess its both rear fog lights. There must be at least one rear fog light by law.

Come to think of it, when I collected my van from the dealers, they asked me to switch on the rear fog lights when they were checking the rear lights for me. I could hardly remember how to do it because I never use them.

I think they confuse following drivers who can't tell if they're fog lights or brake lights.
