This specific caravan has a tap in the shower room that doubles as a shower head by pulling it out on a hose. When in position as a tap the "shower head" is too long for the sink and water goes all over the floor (this is a brand new van).
Bailey have said "this is something the client will have to live with".
My lunar has this type but no problems
can't belive the gall of Bailey, it's like a car with a noise coming from somewhere car salesman says just a characteristic of the vehicle
sorry can't help but hope you can sort somthing out
Hi we have a Eruopa 540 which is the same layout and must have the same shower head idea . What my oh has done is unscrew the shower head and just used the pipe as the tap if you know what i mean .Looks fine and works well and stops everything going floppy with the weight of the shower head .If we ever need it as a shower we will just screw it back on .
There were lots of posts a while back about this, (think the pageant also has the same problems). I can't believe they haven't sorted this out by now. I think the only solution was to have the tap at an angle or something.
Other than removing the head as someone above has stated the dealer says we cannot do anything as it will invalidate the warranty! Oh, and water damage to the cupboard underneath is not covered either.
Not what I would have expected on a new £14000 caravan.
Funnily enough, I too have had this 'quirk' on my 500/5. It's a simple consequence of using an 'off-the-shelf' mixer/shower head tap (which you can't get in shorter lengths) and a realtively small sink. I've actually been looking at changing the entire tap these last few days because we don't make use of the shower area at all, but I might well try the thingy from Lakeland. That said, the taps a rediculous length, so may change anyway.
Our 540/6 was built in November and doesn't seem to have a problem with water going everywhere at all (I've let my 5 & 6 yr olds use it without supervision, so they'd have tested it...). We have the GT60 version, but I'm sure the wet room is identical.
Have you tried adjusting the water pressure? Maybe it's too high for using in the basin - we were told to adjust something near the hot water tank to increase the pressure if we wanted a shower.
I like sharon14's suggestion and will try that, thank you. The van was built in December 2009 and yes we did pay almost £14k but that was with all the extras and the awnings, we have never towed before and had nothing.
Have you adjusted the outlet/spout. The spout pushes up to use as a water tap and pulls down for a spray (or vise versa). We had this in our 550/6 until I read on here about the tap.
We've got the GT60 and the length of the tap is too long but still fits over the sink and we've had no problems either. Was it Bailey who told you that you'd have to live with it and that the water damage is not covered under warrenty or your dealer?
We've got a Bailey 550/6, our tap also can be pulled out and used as a shower, but you can adjust the tap head so that either you have a shower spray of water or a single stream. Like the Lakeland adaptor someone has already suggested.
