I have to agree with Rune Caster if I bought a 1990 caravan and decided to get it registered today the date of first registration would show 25/04/10. That would not make it a 2010 caravan. The fact that ours was bought when it was first released in 2004 doesnt make it a 2004 caravan as it is a 2005 model. It is a little like how the car registration used to work - September to September. Companies are wanting to sell there new caravans before the season ends for the year so introduce them in the September offering discounts etc if you buy before the new season begins. Then the following September they start to sell the next years models.

Had an email from Bailey whom confirmed what Rune Caster has been saying.

Thank you for your email regarding your Bailey Pageant Auvergne

The caravan year of manufacture runs from 1^st September to 31^st of August.  Therefore you may have a 2005 model manufactured in the calendar year of 2004.
