While washing the van last week I noticed that along the top of the awning rail there were little sticking-up bits of something along most of its length. I ran my hand along and the little bits came off and they appeared to be dried mastic. Yesterday I went out to the van before the new buyers came to get it and saw the same thing. This may sound daft, but it is almost like birds have been picking at the mastic where the awning rail meets the van. Anyone else experienced this? Do birds have an appetite for the stuff that holds your van together?
I think you will find its pigeons, they also take the mastic from artificial lead flashings,it is simular to the sealant as caravans, they use it to stick what bit of a nest they make to hold it on rafters in buildings,I read this some years ago about it happening in Italy, but the pigeons could also die as it sticks their beaks together and they cant eat.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
