You say about cleaning out the top tank first. Is there a way to drain this tank rather than just flushing it away to speed up the process.

Oooo not sure on that one, perhaps someone else knows?  I just flushed mine after the cleaner had been standing for a while, was very satisfying!

Yes, most (I say most because I haven't seen them all) Thetfords have a small pipe with a bung on the end of it coming from the base of the top tank (on the bench type this is the fluid level pipe), just pull the bung out to drain
