Has anyone got two caravans, one they use for touring around and one on a sited seasonal pitch, someone said to me today at the caravan shop they were looking at vans because they wanted to site their other and use the new one for touring about.
Just wondering does anyone do this.

A lady that works in our local bakers has 2 vans. They already had a van used for touring which is kept at the same storage site as ours. They were looking for somewhere to site it year round & found a pitch due to come available once the van on it was sold. It was an older 2 berth but sound so they bought the van in situ for next to nothing & the site fees had already been paid up front for several months too.
She says they now have the best of both worlds - on site for quick weekend getaways & the other, newer van to tour with for longer breaks.
That's nice I'd love that, however don't thing the hubby would fork out for another van so soon, then I would probably have favourite van so the other would feel left out lol , then you would have to but duplicates of things unless you carted all your stuff with you to the sited van, and then what if the other vans bigger and it needs it own awning ... Nope I think I will stick to one until I win the lottery ;)

My mum has a static in Silloth and I have a tourer, so we can swap between the two ! best of both worlds :-)
oh that sounds lovely that is what I would do if I could :)
I'm not sure i'd want a 'van for on a seasonal pitch and then another one for touring. That's 2 lots of insurance and seems like a waste of money on paying for a seasonal pitch if you are also going to be touring as well.
But, saying that, If i could have kept our old 'van i would have done as it was great for sleepovers :) But it was old and if i could have kept it then i wouldn't have worried about insuring it or storage costs but there just isn't room to have kept both :(
My friend has 2 vans - one (old one) is kept in Spain and the other one (a newer one) is sited in Wales. When the old one in Spain has past its sell by date, they intend taking the newer one to replace it and hope to be retired then and use it whenever they like!
