Thats how I'm feeeling tonight have phoned 4 different mobile caravan service companies over the past two days and not one of them has got back to me. Its so frustrating we feel like we are in limbo with our van as we cant settle up with the previous owner until we've had a quote on what it will cost to put right the little bit of damp we've spotted at the back of one of the top lockers.
So if anyone knows of a RELIABLE company near to Notts that are mobile I'd be glad to hear from them!

What about your local caravan dealer? Have you phoned them to see if they could fit yours in for a quote? Guess the mobile servicer's are well busy if they aren't getting back to you :o
Getting a reliable quote for damp is very difficult (I'm a mobile engineer). It requires quite a lot of work to find out how far it has spread and what damage has been caused. I often find that you do the work, give the quote and never hear from the customer again, you find you have been used as a negotiating tool.
At this time of year an engineer can't afford to give up half a day when their diaries are full to bursting point with services. They are probably on the road from 8 till 8 and when they get home there is the paperwork to do before you can start ringing customers back.
Sorry this is just my take on a difficult situation.
Robinsons of Chesterfield are good but not mobile, within easy reach of Nottingham shire just off junction 29 of the M1.
I agree that damp repairs are not normally in the demain of the Mobile guys unless there cause is obvious, such as a leaking pipe or roof vent. they make most of their money on servicing and emergancy call outs to sites.
There was a good Boston based guy we used recently who may travel to Nottingham at a cost, but hes not cheap, I think hes called AB Caravan repairs, and hes on the approved list link posted earlier on this thread.

I know its a busy time of year but agree with Micky that a basic call back is manners.
Andy- Not being funny but why can I not expect a mobile guy to pull out cupboards and stuff at my house? I'm not saying it might not need to go to a workshop for the actual work but I dont see why the inspection can not be done at home.
And to all those who suggested I take it somewhere. Yes I know it has wheels but this inspection is to agree a final price with the sellers (its a bit complicated) and I dont want to take responsibility of towing it anywhere until its mine.
Anyway we're sorted now, a guy from Rutland Caravans is coming out tomorrow

Ubuntu1 I would noway expect a mobile person to come out for free to inspect and quote I'm more than happy to pay a call out fee as I can imagine a lot of people would misuse the free quote service if they gave one as a way of selling their van!!
