Well after someone posted on my battery thread telling me to check there was a battery in the first place I went and had a look and yes there it was a lovely battery all in the right place but.........................totally unconnected!!!
What a wally the previous owners had obviously disconnected it as they havent used the van for nearly 2 years and I hadnt thought to check!! So gonna connect it up later and see what it does.
