I find different tv's respond differently on the same aerial.  We don't have a lot of success with the fitted omnidirectional caravan aerial. I suggest you convert to a pole mounted aerial - something like this one

A directional antenna will always outperform an omni,, providing you point it in the right direction. As Shaft says, different sets react differently.  eg. we have a Sanyo in the lounge which fires up the freeview almost instantaneously, whereas the Polaroid which we use in the van and I have it in my radio shack/computor room, Takes a while to find the signal. BBC1 & 2 can take as long as 6 minutes while displaying the 'no signal' message, then all of a sudden will burst into life. Most of the other channels don't take quite that long. You might try leaving it for a while and see if it comes to life. If it does'nt then it's obviousley not such a sensitive receiver as your box and would sugest you try a directional antenna. You don't need an expensive one, B&Q/Homebaseones are quite adequate. Don't let the salesman kid you you need a dedicated Freeview antenna costing all sorts of money, there is no such thing ! Wide band antennas with many elements look pretty but in reality don't give you much of an advantage. I make my own out of thick aluminium wire and they work just as well..............................Mick

I must be the luckiest user of a Status there is!
My omni has worked wherever we've been with only one exception (Bardsea in Cumbria, located in dis-used quarry).
Currenly on site and Freeview working a treat.

We use an old pole mounted ariel (came with the van so don't know how old, but bits have been known to fall off! ) and a new flatscreen with inbuilt freeview. When we first set up and switch on , it quite often tells us there isn't a signal. We ignore what it says and after a few minutes it finds the signal! Sometimes we do have to change the direction the ariel is pointng in, but so far we haven't had no signal at all. We have used it in lots of different parts of the country, both uphill and down dale as they say.Maybe you should try this type of ariel and see if it works.

Hope this helps?
