I have a 110amp battery in the van and frequently go away in the summer on battery only, and using it only for lighting, and water pumps and the like together with a couple of hours of TV each evening I expect and have always got at least 5 days from the battery. To be honest since I also carry a spare battery with me after 5 days I routinely swap the batteries over after 5 days and find a place to charge the discharged battery so I expect that the battery would probably last longer if required.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

the only silly question is the one not asked.
about 5 days fully charged.as you know the hot water can only be from gas but you still need a battery to ignight it.

I agree with the others,4-5 days fridge & water heater on gas & sensible use of the lighting in the van gets me 5 days from my 85amp hour battery

Yes the car will recharge it but not very quickly. At say 2A it would take 40 to 50 hours to recharge.

What about if you use the gas heating with the blower? That must use a fair bit?
CHRISALIZ.....how about getting a solar panel to help keep the battery topped up?

Hardly any, the blown air fan is a very small electric motor using a small fraction of an amp each hour. The big user of electric in the van is the lighting, though for the times that you are pumping water the water pump takes a fair amount. For occasional use a solar panel is not necessary, better to sort out a lead to plug into the S socket to plug in and pass into the boot so that whenever you go out you can take the battery with you and put quite a lot of charge back into the battery.

Twin electrics on the car? Plug it in & run the engine for 5 minutes, Will put more charge into the battery than a solar panel will do all day or longer.
No twin socket get some cheap jump leads.

Our battery failed within 10 mins of getting to site this bank holiday. So we plugged in the car. No problem as we ran on gas instead. We have a brand new Elddis Crusader with all the toys and ran perfectly well. The new LED mood lighting simply is brilliant and the car didnt lose any charge at all.
Only problem was the fridge wouldnt light - it is one of these new Thetford fridges so guess it sensed it was on the car and not on the mains or battery?
Mains wouldnt work as it needs to come through the battery I guess?

I agree that hooking the car up is the answer to top up the battery If you don't have a solar panel or similar but I'd recommend a little bit longer than 5 minutes. It obviously depends on how much current you draw from the battery on a daily basis but you'll be looking at running the engine on the motor for approx 15-30 mins per day. You can purchase an extension lead like the one in the below link. It can come in handy if you need to leave the car at the side of the caravan rather than reversing it close to the hitch.
