The black door does'nt bother us, you get used to it! As for the smaller lockers, we have just had to rearrange things and now we know where everything is, its ok.

Only downside was the waste master had to go in the underbed locker rather than in the front.

We put our towing mirrors and al ko wheel lock bag in the centre locker on site. The side lockers are ok, one has levelling ramps, blocks of wood etc in the other side has mains cable continental adaptors etc in it, and loo chemicals when on site.

We still have empty lockers inside, but there is only 2 of us, if we need to, we will take out the water tank which we won't use in summer.

Perhaps the one with the white door had been painted, would not be too difficult!

We bought the Pegasus because of the features, the 10 year warranty and because we liked it! So far we are very pleased with it, its our 4th Bailey in many years. Yes its a bit square-but its a caravan  ( Big tin box!)

Personally I don't like Ford Mondeos or MPVs but I don't bleat about them like some members of the anti 4 x 4 and anti Pegasus club seem to do!

We're a conservative (small c!) bunch, aren't we?

I've no problem with the look of the Peggy - although I don't think it would be my first choice. I'm happy to accept that there are ways around the apparently restriction of the small nose lockers. And I'd say paying extra for a van that won't leak is a good investment.

But I wonder about those illuminated grab handles. I've heard they let in water and the LED section turns green with algae. Can anyone confirm this?

And surely they will blind the driver of the towcar - they are right in line with the mirrors and at night it will be like having someone with headlights on beam blaring away at you. My van's front positioning lights are right in the eyeline of the driver, and are dazzling enough at night from just one small bulb. It's a design flaw.

A representative of Bailey was talking to me on their stand at the NEC Show in February.  He said (not exactly verbatim)  "the new type of construction could still leak of course - but it won't rot"

I'd be interested to know the actual wording of the Alu-tec 10 year bodywork guarantee. I was told by a dealer that it is conditional on all Bailey recommended inspections and servicing being carried out.

It would seem also that there is extra work involved in the servicing to ensure that the body panels are inspected to ensure the joints remain sound. This evidently may add to the cost of servicing which would make for an interesting calculation of the total cost of ownership not to mention whether this extra cost is value for money when weighed against the risk of damp given how often most people change their caravans anyway.

no problem here with dazzle.as for algae, too early to say but seen many a van with algae stained marker lights.they (grab handles) do condense on the inside in cold weather though.....

Have'nt towed in the dark yet, so cannot say on the handles, had our lights on the other day in the rain and they did not seem a problem.

Not arf!! Has any caravan attracted such a tidal wave of derogatory comments. Just been away for our first trip in our new Pegasus 624 and wse loved it. Traded our seven year old Oklahoma in which we thought was great and I remember all the scathing comments about fixed beds then which are now so common place. No problems for us with the dark grey gas locker, it is a style statement, a change from all cream or white. Masses of space throughout for storage with all those odds and ends easily going in the wet lockers. The boxy front allows you to use every inch of the floor space inside even when you are over 6 foot. One last thought I bought one of the first Ford Sierras and their jelly mould shape was roundly criticised but then copied by everyone. Time will tell.

This is nothing compared to the manure liberally dumped on the Stealth - a product not helped by the company boss's "I know best" attitude.

There are still those of us who would elect to have a large locker at the front - not wishing to labour the point again.

Surely the 3 smaller lockers will sooner or later be regarded as an effective coalition.

You never know, but I suspect they might redesign the layout - I don't think it's here to stay!  There are those, though, who think this is the way forward.

The three locker layout will offer better structural rigidity, remember that the front panel is now just a continuation of the roof rather than an independent piece.

If the Alutech Ranger replacement has a three part window then for me that will show that the rigidity is the overriding reason.

Much the same as the warranty that came with our Bailey I would imagine. It needs to be checked/serviced by a bailey approved dealer to retain the warranty. Within 6 weeks of the purchase anniversary is what it used to be.
