I was away with a friend last weekend in her motor home we were staying on a certifcated site and we had problems with the electric hook up it was only 6amp When I told my husband he said that 6 amps isnt enough for a motor home or a caravan.Has any one else had this problem with electric hook ups on C.S. sites. We caravan a lot and usually stay on club sites and have never had a problem we don't usually go on C.S. sites.![](https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley6.gif)

6 amps is ok if you are just running fridge, telly & stuff with a low current draw, but probabley not enough for a kettle, fan heater & appliances with a high current draw, ie anything that heats up quickly.

A 6 amp supply will give you 1300 watts. This is more than enough for most caravans and motorhomes unless you are trying to use household electrical items.

6 amp is OK if you don't expect to run electric kettles and hairdriers. If you can't cope with that then don't go to France!

6 amp electics is very common in France and the rest of Europe. We have managed for years with that sort of supply. You just have to adjust your usage accordingly and don't try and use all the appliances at the same time and leave the domestic kettle at home!
