I have considered this many times and everytime I go back to CC Mayday policy.
Haven't had to use more than once, and that wasn't when towing, but they were late in getting to me. However, they gave me a £10 cheque for taking over an hour (I think) and as we were at home anyway, didn't mind the wait! Had we been with van on a motorway in pouring rain with 2 young children may well have done!
That said, also you get discount of Red Pennant cover if a Mayday member which for overseas travellers is a bonus.
