I wouldn't want to put a dish on any awning rail - they are quite heavy and catch the wind like nobodys business - i would worry about the strain on the rail causing damage. Use a tripod type thing as they are easy to set up and are alot cheaper than a repair to your van and they can be positioned for good 'view'of the sky to get a strong signal. If money is no object go for one of the auto setup roof mounted dishes - they look cool and are super convenient
