still new to caravanning only towed once and was fine, but im taking my van to sedbergh cumbria to site for the summer so my elderley dad can go up ,have been to look at the site but the roads that lead into sedbergh from m6 seem a bit daunting when not that used to towing, very steep and lots of bends, anyone know the best way to go about this,as im not feeling confident anyone been up there, cheers.
we drove up there recently to check sites out and we thought the same, I dont think there is another way in either. I might be wrong and i am sure somebody will correct me if i am. On the owing half of it i would just take it carefully, dont rush and if that mean you have an impatient person behind you then so be it. Hope you and your father have a nice time away.

I can't remember the name of the site we stayed on there a few years back but were not happy - as said, very narrow and twisty access roads which can't be helped, but on the site itself we were required to pitch with 2 other caravans on a small area of concrete, much too near to the other vans. There was a river on the left and a new (then) wooden facility place.
I used to live in Dent so traveled this road to & from Kendal daily for a number of years & know the road like the back of my hand. I still regularly drive to Sedbergh & see caravans traveling this road without any difficulty. I'm sure you will be fine, just take it easy.
hi, im going to pinfold, tuesday i love the area and my dad thinks its wonderfull and it will be once im there but i just dont feel confident, i was even considering using a tow service to take the van but they was charging 70.00 pound to tow it from blackpool, but might be worth it for the stress its giving me.
I would quite happily tow it from M6 junction 37 to the site for you, for a small donation to the cost of my fuel/time. This is a 25 mile round trip for me & couldn't do it until after 5pm due to being at work, but otherwise happy to assist.
Reply back with your email address if i can be of assistance & I will forward you my number.
Jesus, SlimJim, you brought tears to my eyes. After 2 days of watching MPs feeding at the trough, its a tonic to read such an offer. Well done!
But Wiganer: if you can get your Landy down them lanes, the 'van will follow a treat. Just take it slow, and keep your headlights on even in daylight: it slows white van man down.
The other way would be to come up to Junction 38, head for Kirkby Stephen then after going up Ash Fell and before the railway turn right onto the Sedburgh Road and into Sedburgh that way but not brilliant as you would have to negotiate the middle of Sedburgh (which I hate doing on a motorbike)unless it's this side you're coming to.
If it's any help the service bus regularly travels the road problem free and we do it every year in a Classic coach when we go to Kendal for Torchlight.
