Hi,

Hoping someone can help. My dad is looking for a piece of equipment that controls the flow of the water from the tap into the Aqua Roll. Thing is, he knows what he is looking for, just doesn't know the name, and without the name I can't google to find a good price as I don't know what I'm searching for! (I camp). He said he thinks they are around £50, so quite high, so I thought worth searching to find prices, as he would just go into a caravan shop and buy one (although he did talk about going to Go Outdoors)

If someone can tell me the name of this piece of kit, or even better know where to get a good price for it, I would be most grateful on behalf of my dad (he's 78 and rubbish with the net!).

Thanks

You might be interested in this one here. I have one of these (from the same seller in the link) and have found it to be excellent. Same guy also puts them up for auction, so you can usually get one cheaper; think mine was about £20.

Thanks Paul,

had a look at that link also, good price but they charge postage whereas the other doesn't so works out a couple of pound cheaper, but I'll show them both to my dad and see what he wants.

Thanks again, that was great guys and soooo quick!

There are folk on here who have made their own.  I'm sure it could be done more cheaply if you have the time and expertise.

To make your own, you need a side-entryTorbeck valve (Screwfix), a spare Aquroll cap, two male hoselock type connections (one with a reducer) and a length of water hose (potable type if your dad drinks the water from the Aquaroll).

David & Mike,

Thank you for that suggestion and Mike for what we need. Other half is a drainage engineer, so he knows what all the stuff is and can make it for my dad. Saving him a small fortune.

Thanks

The others have made a good point, might be worth pricing to make your own. The Torbeck valve looks pretty large to me though, as you need to fit this thru' the side water-fill hole of the Aquaroll. I'll happily stand corrected if this type has been used (picture could be deceptive on Screwfix website), but this valve here might be an easier to fit alternative.

Easy to make one up using the bits sbsuk mentioned.

Can also get the Torbek from Wickes for about £7. Spare cap is £5. Hose fittings £1ea.

The hose is the most expensive part.

Ther is a guy on fleabay H2Flow who does the complete unit.

By the time you have bought a valve (£5), 8m food grade hose (£8), aquaroll cap (4), hozelock fitting x2 (8) and then the postage or petrol to fetch them, you might have saved some money but it won't be 'a small fortune'.

Will that fit in the inlet hole, the photo makes the valve look too big to fit.

Yep.  I used to make and sell the kits using Torbeck valves from Screwfix.

Mike.

This will save me some money, our valve broke when the aquaroll water froze this winter, was thinking I would have to buy a full new kit. Will order one tomorrow.
