thanks everyone for your replys. So lots for me to think about then. Might leave it to the wife to sort out ha ha
Are you mad lol For first timers second hand yes as if you bump it or damage it you will not get upset to much if you changing your car stay away from rear wheel drive  i thought these would be fine until i saw one that had got stuck. the other thing is go off for the day and go to a site and have a look at what other people have and you can pull a caravan with what you have but you need to watch on weight with what ever car you have. and don't leave packing to the wife as she will pack every thing 13 pairs of shoes and more clothes then needed  don't take alot of food with you do a shop when you get there get you out expiring back to the car all cars have in there hand book what the max towing weight is. you don't need a massive 4x4 i started with a peugeot 306 1.9tdi make sure the tow bar is fitted properly some tow bars from manufacture are not up to the job and sometimes will not fit alco hitches VW cars are good i have a passat and now i don't no the caravan is there the mondao is good also what is cheap is the ford galaxy diesel as this is a rebaged VW and you have lots of room inside comes with a chose of engines you need the red DI as this has the 130bhp engine in the more bhp the better in a diesel
