With two very "enthusiastic" young helpers, it takes us from about 7am to clear-off time! Always seems to take exactly the amount of time available, sometimes 12:00, sometimes 10:00 or 11:00. I guess we just figure out how fast we have to go the night before. Without the very "enthusiastic" young helpers it takes about 45 minutes!!

Just came back today from a sunny weekend, and we did really well this morning got up at 9.30 had our showers a cooked breakfast, I packed all the clothing and other bits washed up the last of the breakfast bits, OH he took down the porch awning ( much quicker than the full awning) took the dogs for a walk, emptied the cassette waste water ect, I made a quick brew , packed the chairs away, locked the van , hitched up ect another quick check over towing mirrors on, and left the site at 11.59 that's good going for us :)
We can manage 30mins to hitch up if in a rush lol, such as needing to get back home quickly to sort out an emergency ect. We have a safety check list and find that it helps a lot with who does what and when, but we have been caravanning since the early 80s on and off, and now theres just the two of us we find the van stays much more clean and tidy inside anyway, and when it comes to hitching up we dont have the distractions of young children around us anymore, so its much quicker.

2hrs seems to be our best, from waking up to driving away. We'll probably become more efficient as we go on, I guess...
I wouldn't put money on it!! We've been doing it for years and it still seems to takr us for ever. I've stopped worrying about it now.
Packing up to leave home can take from 20 minutes to hours, depending on the stuff still in the unit from before. Packing up for site moves is about an hour without awning. Packing up to come home is a little longer.
Worst part is packing up to go away from home when her in doors comes up with another box or bag of essential equipment just as you have got the lid on the top box down, folding camper door closed or the boot stuffed full. This is usually just as you think you have finished. I have started putting an empty box in now, just to make sure I have enough space.

Taking that all the 'caravan stuff' is kept in the caravan apart from a handful of things. I usually pack 'my' essential (awning and other bits) in the car a couple of days before we go. Then I show my wife and daughter the car and say, '...that the space left, you can take what you want if you can get it in!'
