A few questions .
First of all we arrived on site friday to discover we have lost the handle off the water porter, (a green barrel for fresh water similar to an aquaroll. )

The waste containers we curently have are the square black waste tanks, no wheels.

the toilet cassette is a long oblong shapped thetford one. I have seen some that are more of a squarer shape being carried on waste water containers.

I had a trolley cart thing that I used for taking the toilet casstte or waste tanks for emptying, and tried to carry the waterporter on this and snapped that as well, because it was too heavy.
Now the questions.

Which is the best and cheapest solution ,
Buy a waste container with wheels, that will also carry the toilet cassette for emptying ?.

Or will they not be long enough to take the oblong shaped cassttes?

Or should I just buy a black waterporter and the handle off that will (hopefully) fit my green waterporter as well, and find another solution for transporting the toilet cassette?

we have the pyramid waste master, its a black 45l one with wheels. It also has a fold out shelf to put your toilet casset on and comes with a nice set of bungee leads to hold it in place while transporting.

They cost about £40 and any toilet casset will fit. Nice neat bit of kit.

I wouldn't get the wastemaster. They are too big and completely the wrong shape. I can carry my toilet waste container and don't need to carry it piggyback.

Try the Fiamma waste containers. We can get two in the space the awkward wastemaster fits in.

HI johnsk.
How do you mean ,too big and the wrong shape?

Do they not fit under the caravan ?
Too big for what ?

I can't carry the toilet cassette myself , thats why I'm asking for recommendations for one that the cassette will fit onto, as its quite a long cassette.

Most of the wheeled waste containers will have some arrangement to carry the toilet cassette whether it be the pyramid waste master or the wastehog - both having fold out shelves or the aquaroll wastemaster which is shaped with a step and possibly may be the best for the bench type cassette as you have.

It might well be easy to cart a cassette from a swivel toilet but it's quite a struggle with the bench one I agree with you, not surprising really when you consider it weighs just under 25kg full

We have the Wastemaster which has wheels and a shelf that the cassette sits on and comes with bungees for holding it safe. I've used it often and is really useful when the cassette is really full or it's a long way to the emptying place. We find the Wastemaster a perfect size as quite often we need to use the shallow end as our caravan waste outlets seem to be quite low to the ground especially when the front is higher than the rear and the other side is higher !!!

Hope this helps

Shirley

IMHO, If I were in your position, I would:

a) buy a new handle for the water porter; and replace the water container with a wastemaster (which should be able to carry the loo cassette).

or

b) buy a new handle for the water porter and a new trolley.

If the cost is the big issue, price it up and go for the cheapest, but ideally go for a).

Sorry debbie. Got the wrong end of the stick.

I do think they are far too big to carry in the caravan but if you have one of the big cassettes then I suppose it is worth the inconvenience to be able to use it as a carrier.

We have one of the new cassettes which have wheels on it.

We have the waste master which you can strap the loo cassete on, although our cassette is the wheeled type.

Bear in mind a full waste master is heavy, you have to lift it up to pull it, and may have to lift it up over a sill at the emptying place.

A full waste master and cassette is a fair load! Depends hoa big/strong you are.!!

We have a wastemaster and it fits quite well in the front locker with the gas bottle etc   Yes, our toilet casette has wheels to - it is the easiest cassette we have had to 'transport' and it is the easiest cassette we have had to empty.  Our new code for emptying the toilet is 'taking the dog for a walk!'

That's quite often used as code for another kind of "country pursuit", so I hear!

Thanks everyone for the comments, plenty to think about there.

Maybe the wastemaster won't be such a good idea as I had thought .

I have a bad back, I can just about manage to lift the cassette onto the trolley and lift it up for emptying .

I guess a full wastemaster might be too heavy for me.

maybe a new trolley is the answer .

Does anyone know where I can get a new handle for the water porter ? I can find aquaroll spare handles but not the waterporter ones ?

Hi Debbie.  I have had a look but can find nothing.  However, it might be worthwhile ringing them on (taken from their website):

01623 754 567 (Mon-Fri 09:00-16:00)
07980 312 501 (all other times)

Do let us know how you get on.

We have a Wastemaster and a 40litre Aquaroll
The Wastemaster is excellent but as mentioned earlier is very heavy when full. Answer: Empty it more regularly and then you will be able to strap on your cassette and happily wheel them off to the waste point.

I would certainly advise you to buy a Wastemaster (or similar), they are a real boon.
