I want to ask your advice about my Bailey caravan. I bought it new last year from a local dealer and it is due a service to keep the warranty by June this year. Because of a hectic time since November last year, moving home and caring for my son who had an amputation, we never recieved our letter telling us that the service was due until I met the new owners of my last home, and to be honest it wasn't at the forefront of my attentions! I rang the service dept only to find they have no appointments free until the end of July (when we are away in the caravan anyway) so we will loose our warranty! The nearest Bailey approved service centre is in Dundee according to the Bailey website (we stay on the Moray coast) and I am at a loss as to what I can do. Thank you.
Hi, I had a simular experiance, went to book and no space so would loose the warranty. I was lucky and found an approved mobile servicer and they fitted me in within a week.
Have you tried the approved mobile route?

Just in case you are not aware, the annual service should be carried out within 6 weeks of the aniversary of the date of purchase: "That an authorised Bailey Service Centre has carried out a full service, including moisture survey, annually from the date of purchase as new (or within 6 weeks of each anniversary of purchase)."
If this 'will not work', then you could ring up Bailey costomer services and tell them the problem and ask if they can 'allow an extension' - and can you have confirmation in writing please, that by doing this it will not invalidate any aspect of the warranty!
The other thing you could do is to approach the servicing agents and ask them if they can backdate the service stamp date. (if you ever have to produce receipts, though this could be a potential problem.
Failing this, and having already investigated the 'approved mobile route', IMHO the only other thing you could you is to travel to get the caravan serviced.
As far as I know, you can have it serviced so many weks before or after its due date. If yours is due for a service in June, are you not doing the right thing to go to your supplying dealer in MAY & try to book it in as required. It's not your fault if the service department haven't got a space, all we can do as customers requiring a service it try to book it in.
I'd call the dealer & book it in, point out to them the date it's due for a service & leave it to them. Accept what ever appointment the offer you to comply with your warrranty asking them to service your caravan as per the requirements of the warranty, you're prepared to make the caravan available for them to service in time to support the requirements of the warranty. What more can you do. There's no written requirement for us as customers to book a service months in advance just in case they're too busy.
If this doesn't wash with them, call the customer services department at Bailey caravans in Bristol & ask them for their advice, you're doing your best to get it serviced by booking it in a month prior to the due date & they won't service it for you. Put the ball in thier court. That's what I'd do.
Quick upate.... I rang the local service dept this morning and asked for their forst available date (which was August) as I was about to telephone Bailey to complain that the servicing couldn't be done and to demand an extension!! worked wonders My caravan is now booked in, in time, in June! Many many thanks to all who helped me and gave me advice
