we have just bought an annexe for our isabella awning from ebay.  it is not ones of the new ones that i have seen advertised, doesnt seem to have a door in it.

there is no instructions or anything which says which type it is, it looks in great condition but we seem to have a problem with the poles.

there is a lot of poles but we are not sure that they are the right ones as they are different sizes.  my hubby has looked on the isabella website for instructions but can't find the correct ones.

can anybody help at all to identify the annexe or have any instructions on building it.  hope we have not bought a "duff" annexe :-(

thanks

We don't actually have an Isabella one but do have a Dorema tall annex. Our annex does not have any doors. It has two upright poles that go in the two back corners (these have joints and small poles attached to attach the the back and side poles to), there is a pole that goes across the roof at the back. There is also poles on the left and right hand side coming forward clipping onto the main awning roof pole and a centre one which is bent in the middle and again clips onto the main awning roof pole. The annex inner clips inside on the poles. I know that there are some which you can zip the side panel of the awning back in, ours is not one of those.

Not sure if this is any help or not, but hopefully someone with an Isabella one will be able to confirm or let you know what you should have.

Hoping you can work it out.

Hi. I have 2 of these.

There should be a pole with a hook on it. That hooks onto those plastic things clipped onto the main awning and comes out and attaches to the from of the upright pole for the main awning. Then there are 3 poles which clamp onto that pole which efectively are the roof of the awning (though the zips do most of the work). It should be obvious hopefully that these poles sit onto the upright of the annex. There are then 2 uprights within the annex.

I have some pics if you let me know your email address.

I am now very confused, all I can think of is that it is one of those 'universal' annexes, but I thought they tied on in some way, never actually used one myself so I don't really know exactly how the universal ones attach. As another UKCS member has already mentioned, can you upload some pictures.

Are you sure that the annex you have bought is an Isabella one?  Isabella annexes are usually zipped in and most of them have the trademark round Isabella window and an external door (the brand new ones are a bit different).

For the majority of Isabella annexes, you need to know whether your awning is unicut or the older pre-unicut in order for it to fit  (for the zips to match up) - then there are different sizes according to the depth of your awning.  One type of Isabella annex only fits the Penta and Magnum awnings.

Which model of awning do you have by the way?  You can always contact Isabella and tell them whatModel and year awning you have and they will tell you which models/years of annex will fit.  That's what I did before I bought a 2nd hand Isabella annex for my Ambassador Crown Gold.

thank you everybody for your help. there are little plastic things on it for putting the ground pegs in & they all have isabella stamped on them. its the same colour as the interior of our isabella ambassador awning.

i will try & get some pictures on when it drys up in rainy scotland lol....

there in a pole which is sort of bent which suggests it could be for the roof, but there is nowhere for a 3rd pole to go.

keep the suggestions coming, they are much appreciated.

Our third pole (bent one that goes in the middle of the roof) clips on with thumb screw clamps (butterfly clamps?) on both the awning roof pole and the annex pole that runs across the back of the roof.

Hmm, apart from you saying that the pegging straps have Isabella on them, it sounds much more like a Dorema annex.  The Dorema's have a bent roof pole and the  white plastic 'X' channel strips to join the annex and awning.  Why not look up the Dorema annex instructions on the web and see if they are a good enough match to help you construct yours?

I have copied our exploded pole diagram that goes with our Dorema tall awning annex. I have emailed it to you at the email address you gave earlier in the thread. Hope it may be of some help.

....and the instructions for an Isabella Annex can be found here

- although from your description of the one you have bought, this is not going to be relevant.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU :-)

All you lovely people who have gave us your advice. we have worked out from your various emails, photos etc.... that we do indeed have a dorema awning annexe.  the tags for the pegs are isabella but are a different colour to the pictures, it seems as if the originals have been broken & replaced by isabella ones.

this explains how it was probably advertised as an isabella.

My next question is....... lol..... will it fit on our isabella awning? answers on a postcard please.......

If not.........

Dorema Awning Annexe for sale lol....

Thanks again to you all

Not sure if a Dorema will with a Isabella. I do know however that we bought a Dorema annexe by mistake (when we had a Starcamp awning), thinking it was the same (we were wrong!), I did find out however that I could have the zip changed if I sent it away. We did not go down that route as a Starcamp one became available and we bought this and sold the Dorema one (which went like a hot cake), now have a Dorema awning and annexes and very happy.

Well, I suppose it's good to have an answer, but I am 99.9% certain that the Dorema is no good to you.  I've owned a Dorema with Annnex and now have an Isabella Ambassador with Annex - so am aware of just how different they are.

I think you might need to put it back on E-bay and try again!  Next time around, you need to match it to the model and year of your Isabella awning - this is because you need to know if its the pre-unicut or unicut version (Unicut was a later development). Make sure that the seller can assure you that it fits an awning the same as your - not just any Isabella, but specifically your model.

Isabella used to make colour-coded annexes, so you might find one which matches your awning.  However, since about 2005 (roughly) they have only been available in grey.

Incidentally, the Isabella awnings & annexes usually have a manufacturer's label inside them which identifies it.  If the seller can tell you what is on this label - then if you were to phone Isabella - they can tell you what it will fit!  (see image below):-

I do hope you succeed.  I know a bit about this, 'cos I had an ordeal tracking down a second hand one myself.  But I did get there!  Good luck!!  Mrs U-M
