We've just got back from 5 nights away & we decided to use this break as a practice run with the full awning before we go to France (never put one up before).
It took us nearly 3 hours in total (including curtains) with lots of people stopping to offer advice or just ask 'Are you getting there?'. Agree with everything people have said re organising the poles before you start. Follow the instructions carefully (a lot of the time we took was going thru the manual) & the colour colde the poles once it's up. If it's not already got the ladders attached you'll save yourself some time doing it before going away (we didn't). We're aiming for under 2 hours next time!
Most of all, have patience & a sense of humour!
Whether you need a porch type awning as well will depend on the kind of breaks you have. We've decided that if we're doing 4 nights or more we'll use the full awning (loved it once it was up). Less than that & we'll use the Kampa Rally 390 that we can get up & organised in 40 minutes (still practicing with that one too) & gives almost as much space altho not as light & airy.
