On returning home yesterday from West Wales along the M54 around the Telford area, i caught up with another Caravan being towed in the direction of the M6, i must say i was a bit alarmed of how bad it was crabbing with lots of swinging on the back end, i'm not sure if the driver was aware of this but he wasn't hanging about either, just thought i would mention this just on the off chance he may see this post and get the van checked out, i tried to get his attention but he was going a bit too quick for me to get along side of him and juncton 3 is where i get off, for all the experts on here what would of been the cause of the Caravan to behave in such a manner.

"Crabbing" would suggest it was travelling sideways - I think you mean it was "snaking"!
As for why, it could have been any number of things, or a combination: excessive speed, bad weight distribution, tyre problems, bad match for tow vehicle, idiot behind the wheel...

Loading issue is my guess. Can I just say I liked the image conjoured up in my mind from the OP comments about trying to catch up with the driver along the motorway to drop a hint. Two caravans going at it hell for leather...everyone else behind trying to get in front (where they belong obviously) love the picture.

PS So chuffed to see the Wolves stayed up. Many happy memories of days living in the area with my dad taking me to home and away matches as a kid back in the late 50's early 60s. Days of Ron Flowers, Bill Slater; Peter Knowles; Peter Broadbent; Norman Deeley etc.

Was it a Eldiss or Compass with the Swing Tec BPW chassis I followed a couple of these when we owned one and they did seem to look lively however it was not really noticeable in the towing vehicle
Never swung in my Eldiss....(now now no innuendo intended!!!)

Over loaded / badly loaded, wrong or uneven tyre pressures, nose weight all wrong, and of course as you observed he was going a bit quick.
I'm not sure what type of Van it was to be honest, but it was defanitly going down the road side ways and i mean side ways to the point of every now and again you got a glimpse of the back of the car,it reminded me the old minis used to do the same when the sub frames were knackered.... who ever was driving was a right muppet.
Yup were all well chuffed the Wolves stopped up, we have suffered a long time now not being in the the top flight especialy with all the tradition at the club, but its a different game now its all money and prima donnas 0n the pitch....looking forward now to the future...happy days.
