Hi all been a while since i logged on but after some trouble free caravanning i could do with a few pointers,

Over the bankholiday some freak rain through the night brought down my sunncamp cardinal awning, left a small repairable tear to the roof but mainly buckled 5 poles beyond repair, where can i get some replacement alloy pole sections???

Secondly this morning my smev oven/grill died a death, well we nearly did at least, unbeknown to us the oven/grill regulator appears to have gone faulty, with both oven and grill on at once but only the grill was lit so once the oven filled with gas it promptly went WHOOOOOOSH!!! luckily it blew itself out!!!

Haven't gone too far with that yet but the dial appears to be stuck/blocked. Wheres best for smev spares???

Thanks all

Try ringing Sunncamp/Sunnflair spare parts etc on 01245 326624.  If you need to replace most of the poles then it might be worth asking if they can supply steel or Fibre.  I have found both better than alu.

P.S.  It is difficult to get to the Sunncamp website - you have to go to Sunnflair - same company.  http://www.sunnflair.com/

Many thanks i have dropped them an email, i need about 5x 1m lengths of pole, but finding it difficult to find spares anywhere else as they are 25mm diameter, i have access to plenty of steel poles but they are all too narrow, would mean me swapping out most of the roof braces to steel instead of just the odd length, weight isnt an issue as the van is permanatly sited just like to swap like for like...

Stripped my smev oven today, need a new thermostat, contacted smev via email who put me onto a guy at dometic, just waiting a reply..

The main feed was leaking gas which ignited, luckily it blew itself out, but the thermostat appears to have got very hot and 2 alloy gears inside have distorted rendering the valve useless....

just glad the van never went up!!!
