Hi all

I recently removed the outer fridge covers on my van to check behind the fridge after having problems in the hot weather.

Although there is some grey sealant around the edge i would rather replace it with some fresh. Could you let me know what type of sealant is best to stop water getting in.

Thanks

If it was me I'd use W4 Mastic Sealing Strip.

Available in most good caravan shops. Link is an example of the product.

use non setting mastic as used when built(grey stuff) allows for flex on parts people use silicon to fix covers and skylights etc but they regret it later on as seal breaks and you dont know it, mastic can be purchased at any good dealers and a tube will last years as it keeps soft in tube regs mick

For fridge vents use a non setting sealant, like IDL99, Seamseal or similar, easier to remove if you have to get to the back of the fridge for any reason.
