We are new to caravans and used to be happy to take the kettle to the tap, but we feel we should make the most of our luxury and use the facilities of our new van. We have seen most caravanners walking about with Auaroll and wastemaster products and are tempted to go for them, but have also looked at Royal's version of both. They come in more appealing Green and blue rather than dull drab beige, but are they as good? We would like to keep them in the front locker, but can't find dimensoins for the royal version to check they would fit.
Agree with you on the colour, they dont look very appealing!
As a resuly, we bought covers for ours, very cheap and are now a matching green!
------------- Enjoying caravanning, realising what an expensive hobby it is and spending the family’s inheritance before they can get their hands on it!
We managed for years with an old 5 gallon plastic drum for waste water and a new one for fresh water. Both light and cheap. Well the waste one was free. Depends how good you are at carrying them.
Not much difference in price between the Aquaroll and Royal version. Imagine we could manage the plistic drums no problem, but thought we owuld splash out since we got a good deal on the van.
I have the water porter 29l, green one for fresh water and a black one for the waste. Very happy with both .They both cost less than the aquaroll versions.
I carry ours in the caravan showeror toilet compartment .
I wouldnt worry about the waste container being inside the van, surely you would wash it out after each use and store it empty with the lid on.
I put ours inside a reusable tesco bag for life , so any odd bits of grass or mud can drop off into the bag and not make a mess elsewhere in the van.
Our is in the shower too in a plastic bag with top on. It's only used for used washing, cooking & washing up water after all.
Don't think brand or colour is important. We can't see ours without going behind the van. They are used relatively little so durability is not a big issue.
Price and practicality - rollability would be important for me.
We certainly could not fit ours in the front locker.
I doubt you would get a 40l container in the front locker. Even a 29l one would be a struggle.
We have aquaroll & wastemaster beige ones. We use a generic cover for both that we purely put on to store them in the washroom, so the outside of the covers are clean & dry. We keep the lid on the wastemaster & we have not had any smell issues.
One thing that's great about Aquaroll/Wastemaster is that you can buy spare parts for them, e.g. replacements caps, handles etc.. This may be the case for others - worth checking...
Thanks averyone. Forgot we had a washroom to keep stuff in! That sounds like a good plan. Think we will go with the aquaroll as it seems to be the most popular.
I got a couple of water porters one was free & is well used the other I brought new. the Wastemaster I brought second hand from a caravan store at Peterborough.
