Does anyone know of or have heard of an air bed that would be a precise fit on our bed it is 2.08 x 1.29 we have a topper but you can still feel the bumps and getting a sore back so defeats the object really a thicker topper would take up too much space have searched everywhere but no luck
hi kpedd when we had our first caravan an old elddiss it was lumpy and uncomfy.we just bought a double airbed from halfords and that fitted fine.not overly expensive either from memory

the trouble is i don't want my pillow to slip dpwn the gap so i will have to re-think or maybe get a deeper topper and maybe store it in the shower or just sleep on top of the OH he he
you could always buy some foam block cut into three sections and put that ontop, its a little firmer than the thin toppers and does iron out the effects of the bumps better. Ours is 4ins thick, and i bought some polycotton sheeting material and sewed large pillowcase style covers for each block, which makes bedmaking so much easier than having to stretch over to tuck in a bottom sheet if you prefare to use a duvet instead of sleeping bags.
If you used an airbed where would you store it during the day? Personally I think i would soon get tired of having to inflate and deflate it everytime we needed to use the bed!

Actually you have just posted the biggest reason we were persuaded to get a fixed bed - at Easter in our old van we were going to blow up a airbed we had with us for the same reason until we remembered we hadn't taken a pump
------------- Caravanning is a way of getting a cheap holiday out of an expensive hobby
i would of liked a fixed bed but we couldn't find one that suited us as most were rear washrooms and you had to pass the bed to go to loo or were over budget so we got the 540 which has double lounge areas and generally leave the end one made up if we use the awning but when we dont then you have to maximise the space hence the storage issues, julia doing the air bed is not a problem as we have kids for stuff like that he he
