No, it looks as if you have everything there. My only question mark would be the length of the cable which whilst coping in most circumstances might not be long enough if you have to dodge trees! Maybe Satgear could supply a longer cable?

We got ours from Aldi for £30 (same one currently in Maplins for £120!!) last year and have used it twice, it receives 2500 channels but the majority are pay per view and a lot of the ones it does receive are repeated, ie regional variations of itv etc. We get more variety on our digibox.

It is handy for areas where you can't get a signal on your status aerial though.

We have a Maxview oval dish and also take our Sky box. We like small quiet sites and ask about satellite reception or look on Google Earth before deciding.

Yes that's a great little kit Slates at a good price too although as David says there could be some instances where you may need a longer cable..

I brought a very similar dish and tripod off ebay a few years ago and haven't looked back, We always get a picture with plenty of channels to choose from. Takes approx 10 mins to set it all up including running the cable to the receiver and aligning the dish to astra 2..

It's good to mention when pulling up onsite that you have a dish, If they're not fully booked most will put you somewhere where the trees won't be in the line of sight of your dish.

How do they hope to encourage people to go digital when the signal is still so patchy?

Whilst we have had few problems with our status aerial in most areas, some are very poor. We've found that one of those little signal searcher gadgets is a great help in finding the best direction for the aerial (we are often amazed at the variety of directions that aerialsaround us are pointing - little wonder that they get the sort of comments above).

Unfortunetly the broadcasters aren't encouraging people to go digital they are actually forcing them to go digital as they're turning off the old analogue signal.

Digital is probably one of my biggest gripes with the new technologies that are being introduced as the picture quality is no better than analogue It's merely a different way of decoding the signal from the broadcasters masts.

And yes I also found it strange that there were lots of ariels pointing in all sorts of weird and wonderful directions when we were last on a campsite.
