Just got some machine oil so thats my next job, the thread still snaps occasionally at the end of the seam for some reason, I'm now a dab hand at rethreading the machine in a flash so its not as annoying as it was in the beginning, the stitches are now flat both sides where they were a bit loopy underneath previously, I'm wondering if I pull to hard when I remove the sewn fabric from under the foot, I lift the foot first and lift up the needle to its highest and then try and gently remove the sewn fabric from the machine and thats when it can snap, its not the bobbin underneath as that seems fine and flows freely when I pull the thread but its the thread above, studied the instruction book again and am certain I'm threading the machine correctly, will get the OH to get the machine apart and look for bits stuck in there, it is a 2nd hand machine so there well could be, all a bit of a learning curve isnt it lol.

Ah I see now, turn the wheel as you remove the fabric, there is a point , just after the highest point when the needle starts to drop again where the thread will flow through more freely, or give it a quick couple of quarter turns back and forth as you remove the fabric .
yes its a learning curve all right, this is one perfect example, something you will do automatically without thinking about it in time.
sounds like you have the tension sorted out now

I've for my fabric, went out today and bought some upholstery thread, bottom cloth and piping so...I'm all set! I took the old covers off one of my cushions today and I'm going to make a start on the new ones tomorrow. Yikes!  

(I don't know how to attach a photo to this message so I've put one in my gallery - the darker fabric is for the curtains and the lighter one is for the cushions)
