.. so far.   Chichester caravans took photos on Monday of some minor damage caused by debris on the road. Filled out a claim and posted it with estaimate Tuesday late on. Got a letter today which gives the go-ahead for the repair.

I had to make a couple of minor claims last year - exactly the same story - very prompt response - great service. They're not the cheapest but you can't fault the cover or the service they provide.

I wonder how much your premiums will rise when you renew your insurance though! That seems to be the way insurance works! You pay to insure your property against any damage etc but if you sustain any damage and make a claim you end up paying for that as well (in increased preiums). Why do we have insurance?

I totally agree with regards to the Caravan Club Insurance.  Old van stolen, new van/retailer chosen by us (we had new for old cover, and adequately insured).  No problems/difficult questions etc.  (Won't re-tell the story again here as I've done it before).  Insurance for the new van only marginally higher, but with some restriction on storeage site.  Still only *specify* one security device.  All sorted within 6 weeks.  In view of the cost/ waiting period to see if the van was recovered and researching and ordering the new van etc., very efficient and fair.

If I continued to pay my insurance premium per month at the present rate, it would take me sometime between 36 & 37 years for them to recoup the money they paid out with this insurance claim, and I'll still be covered for the whole of that period.  In my case, the CC will not recover that money from me.  The reality is, however, that they will inevitably have to recover that money from somewhere, hence Lassie's concern about why we need insurance.  Some will pay insurance premiums for years and never need to claim.  Others of us have been less fortunate.  It's the piece of mind.  So, please join the Caravan Club Insurance scheme - I may need to claim again someday.

The skylight blew off our caravan last week on Saturday and Chichester Caravans told us to bring it in straight away and they would put it under cover.
Arrived in Bromsgrove at about 12:30pm after workshop had closed but MD was there waiting for us and helped put the caravan in the workshop under cover.
They then got everything sorted for us reagridng CC insurance with us filling in the claims form and the caravan is ready for collection today.
Now leaving to collect it.

Same John that got our repair done in less than a week. Picked up the caravan about an hour ago and he was on hand to help hitch up.

Didn't rise at all.   It was our first year of caravan insurance, so we didn't have any no claims bonus anyway.   The premium for the following year was the same as the year before (give or take a few pounds for inflation).

We are insured with the Caravan club and are awaiting an engineer to go and look at our new 3 week old van which was damaged at the dealers when they had a huge fire on Monday(Cranham in Essex). A piece of gas valve from an exploding gas bottle went right through the side of our new Conqueror 645 and landed on the island bed. We are now waiting to see what happens next and have been told the engineer will be in touch early next week, so a week after we started the claim. We are as you can imagine not very happy. Originally we took it back for some warranty faults; the fridge not working and a few other bits which we thought was bad enough at the time! Some people say we will get our money back some say they will want to repair it. We dont want a repaired caravan after paying £20,659 3 weeks ago, afteral we could have got a repaired one from someone else I'm sure for a lot less money. There doesn't seem to be any insurance cover for the fact we've had to cancel our weeks holiday and we have every weekend booked until the end of the year and we pay for CC storage too which of course isn't being used at the moment. We have 'new for old' insurance etc but will it cover this? or is it just another insurance rip off?
