went to my van last week (we keep it on a seasonal pitch) and found that the fridge wasn't working. Lights were on but it wasn't cold. Had obviuosly been like this a few days given the smell!!!
I have no idea who I get to repair / replace Do I need a caravan service person or a general fridge egineer? Any help appreciated?
If you had it on ehu I would guess the 240v element has failed(I'm assuming its a caravan absorbsion fridge, is it?). New part is about £40 I think + labour for fitting, probabley less than a couple of hours including removal/refitting of fridge. Its also possible coolant has leaked out. If so, fridge is scrap. The job can be done by an experienced caravan service person.
Many of these sites have the number of the local caravan engineer. Down at Blackmoor the other week and he was a regular visitor.

Yes try it on gas & see if it works. If you ain't lit it for a long time you might have trouble lighting it, if burner tube is full of debris. Once it is lit it should get cold. If it don't get cold on gas either then suspect leaking coolant.
