Hello, I just bought a freedom sunseeker yesterday for me the wife and the 2 little ones.  they seem small but fun - I do have a couple of problems the front window and also the non opening side window are damaged and need replacing - does anyone know where I can buy these from and are they expensive.   also there is no gas bottle or regulater - is there a size / type needed to fit in the Gas bottle bit.

sorry if my terms are not correct but this is are first caravan.

cheers Ian

You will need to approach the main dealers in Stafford for he spares if you want to buy new windows and yes, they will probably be quite expensive.   The only other option is to try caravan breakers yards (or you may fall lucky and get the right size windows on ebay)..

Just Google "Freedom Caravan Stafford" and their details come up...can't remember the name now.

My brother has  Freedom van and it's lovely.   Compact and very light but you do need to be caeful when loading it (check out towing weights.  If you are not sure, post on here exactly what model and year the van is and an expert will be along shortly to give you the details!)

Does your gas bottle fit into the front locker (the outside locker on the A frame)?   If so, is there a space for it to slot into or is it just placed into the locker and held down with bungee straps?   Do you have an empty bottle?   If not, try to get hold of one from somewhere as if you don't have an empty to exchange for a full one, this will also be expensive to buy.   The regulators are a reasonable price usually.   My brother's van only has a smallish gas bottle in his and anyway, as there is only a gas hob, you don't use very much gas so there's really no need to lug a huge gas bottle around with you.

For gas, best to get propane as it works when the temperature gets down towards freezing. Butane stops working and is a pain on those cold april mornings.

Bottles are expensive, but you can usually get them 2nd hand from local ads or unofficially, from the council recycling centre

Hi Framer

http://www.caravanwindows.co.uk/

the only problem is you send them your broken window and they rebuild one and send you a new one back it takes about 2weeks - I am still trying to find a spare as I don't wnat to leave the caravan without a window.. let me know if you find a different option

cheers ian
