LAST WEEK WHILE IN CARAVAN WAS MAKING A CUP OF TEA ON POURING THE HOT WATER IN THE CUP IT JUST EXPLODED COVERING ME IN HOT WATER. THE CUPS ARE NOT TWO YEARS OLD, DIDNT DROP IT OR HIT IT, IT JUST WENT BANG AND SPLIT IN TWO. SO BEWARE.
Havnt got a microwave in van. Ive never heard of it before you cannt imagine what had happend if my grandson had been standing there have thrown the rest away.

Typing in caps lock is considered shouting, very rude.
Well having boiling water down you would make you shout!!!!
Melamine absorbs heat so if you often use cups in a microwave or pour boiling water into them they can soften and crack. Boiled water should be left a short while before pouring into the cup to coll a little or make the tea in a tea pot first rather than directly into the cup.

Tea always tastes better if made properly in a pot.
we got a new full set and ALL the 4 cups cracked within 12 months.the old set in the attic has lasted 8 years and still going,if rquired.HOW DO you keep the cups clean????.we need to soak in milton.

Someone on here suggested use steradent - my wife did our cups and we were pleased with the result. We now carry steradent as part of our caravan equipment!

Steradent.....? Pop your teeth in the cup overnight and both are clean in the morning. Great time saving tip but I don't know if I want to call into a local shop and ask for steradent at the moment!!!!!
