We have just been out and bought a new (newer to us anyway) caravan. Unfortunately as it is bigger we now need a new awning. We've measured as best we could and also I've looked up on the net for this particular caravan (Compass Amara 530) and it looks as though we need 971cm awning (size 13)
My question is as the size 13 awning measurements are 950 - 975 and a size 14 is 975 - 1000 will it matter which one I get?
971cm is only just inside the measurements for the size 13 and the last one we bought was nearer the end of the maximum figure too so we often feel that it could do with being a bit longer especially when on a pitch that isn't level.
Can't remember what size but have a feeling 925 rings a bell - should have some paperwork for it somewhere. It wasn't an expensive awning and we've had it 5 years so it doesn't owe us anything - mind you there's still alot of use left in it.
First thing ignore the size - what you have as a size 13 is a size 18 in the NR range, a size 13 NR awning has a 777 - 807 A measurement - far too short for your van.
The most important measurement is the A measurement - every awning company uses this measurement and is the only figures that remain the same.
Regarding your query: 950 - 975 would have a mid measurement of 962cm while the 975 - 1000 would have a mid measurement of 987. Your A measurement, 971, is closer to the mid measurement of the smaller awning than the larger, so the smaller awning should be the better fit
