Adding to Janus's comment, the main advantage that C&CC have over CC are the Temporary Holiday Sites (THS) run by C&CC Members throughout the summer season.
These can be very basic although some, run on say Rugby Club Grounds, can include shower and bar facilities.
These THS's are usually run near places of interest and are very cheap. I have seen some advertised at as little as £4.50 per unit, per night.
Where else could you take the whole family on a week's holiday for just over 30 quid?????
The caravan club also do a similar thing, called Holiday Rallies. The main difference being that you should book with the caravan club rather than just turn up. I prefer to book, that way I know there will be a pitch for me when I arrive.
thats not true about picking your pitch on all CC sites , 2 sites i have stayed at in Wales ,Aberbran in Brecon and Ogafau in pumsaint the pitches are picked for you
when we started we joined both agreeing to decide at the end of the first season which one to sitck with - three years on we are still members of both as we seem to stay in both equally.
I agree with Joecroft 2 - most all the CC&C sites we've stayed on we have been directed to a particular pitch - a decison I am not always happy with but then again OH is much more easy going than me! :-)
We are in both clubs and I have to say that I prefer the C.C because the quality of the site's is on the whole a bit better and the Toilet blocks are usually more modern than some of the C&CC site's we have used .
Also the Showers on C.C site have adjustable temperatures whereas the C&CC showers are often pre-set something which is not to my liking .
Hardstanding pitches are also bigger and more level on C.C site's and the access roads around there pitche's are usually smooth and well surfaced unlike C&CC site's which sometimes have poor quality and often potholed roads .
Both clubs have there merits but C.C get's my vote every time

Ogafau is an affiliated site, ie it is run by the owners as a private concern but has a contract with the CC to provide pitches for CC members, as such they can choose for themselves what they do. Aberbran is a CC site and as such when you arrive there CC site rules apply and they say that any pitch that is vacant when you arrive is available for you to choose. However if the warden has limited availability for large caravans or for people who have special requirements they can at their discretion remove pitches from the general availability.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
