Travelling to Great yarmouth soon. Can anyone suggest any suitable services we can park on overnight with our caravan. Peferrably on the A47 between Norwich and Great yarmouth or somewhere nearby.

Many Thanks for your help.

i have had a look at the motorway services website and probably being a bit thick but can you just stop overnight providing you pay the parking fee?  We are new to motorhoming and we are travelling down to Cornwall from Oxfordshire, but wanted to leave home during the evening, drive for couple of hours or so, stop overnight and then carry on next morning, and obviously a service station on M5 would be convenient rather than having to find a site with a late arrivals area, which probably will be off the beaten track!

You can park overnight but it cost a lot more than  a small CL site.

as much as £25 for overnight stay on motorway

try searching on this site for a site near Leicester or Cambridge which are both on route. Would be much nicer than staying at some manky services? Or you could just drive right through isnt it about a 4 - 4/2 hour ish drive???

the op states he/she is travelling to Great Yarmouth... the op's location is stated as Newcastle under Lyme. Therefore the op will be travelling through or near to Leicestershire and Cambridgeshire!!!!

Thanks for all your replies.

We try to travel overnight and get as close to our destination as possible, usually arriving at a service /overnight stop at 11.30am - 12.00am leaving just a small journey in the morning.(Guessing this is way too late for a CL site).

Just hoped someone local'ish to Great Yarmouth would know of a truck stop or services in the area we could use as our destination caravan park does not have a late arrivals area.

Cheers

Thank you Swiftsure and Chriska1111, am spoilt for choice now, sometimes we do M$/M4 and sometimes A303/A30, depending on the time we travel.  So thank you both for the helpful information.

Chriska1111

Just to thank you for your advise about the Sedgemoor Services overnight stop, it was great, we paid £18 and that included £10 food voucher. We arrived about midnight and being mid week it was not very busy, so had a decent nights sleep.  Thanks again for the suggestion.

Hi,

Is the 'lay by' on the a30 nr honiton easy to find?....is it actually on the a30 east or west bound?
