We had an issue on Saturday with our Pegasus. When we arrived at our storage site in Essex the OH could not get the door open. The door would unlock and then jam on the first catch point. Eventually with teasing and turning with the key in place, we finally got the door open. Not wanting to shut the door and be stuck in the same situation we wondered what to do. We phoned our local Bailey service agent, but the workshop was only open Mon - Fri. We phoned the Chipping Sodbury Caravans where we got the van from (200 miles away) and the sales guy said that they had had that issue with another van & it was caused by the door lock moving. Sure enough we we able to push the catch a few mm towards the hinge. This was sufficient for the door to then open and close smoothly. Fortunately there was also someone in the workshop on a Saturday so they we able to explain how to perform a more permanent fix on the catch. This was by removing the 'HARTAL' bage off the inside of the catch and then loosening the two screws that are under there. There are also two screws under the green & red catch positions. I then pushed the catch firmly towards the door hinge and then tightened the screws back up. Before anyone says 'another Pegasus fault' Hartal doors are fitted to other caravans and they also have issues. Check any Hartal locks are not loose before you get stuch outside your van.
