Hi The Woofs,
I'm not really sure of the price we are looking at right now. I don't want to get carried away and splash out on something pricey that won't really get used, so I've been looking at older models at the mo, but realise they might not be top spec. I don't think I'll get any further until we manage to look round a showroom, unfortunately the Discover near my dad [Orpington way] closed down a while back, so I'll have to find where any other local ones are. I only know of a motorhome showroom near us in Medway.
I've been looking at the retro vans like Eriba, how cool are they! Probably not practical for us, but I just love the look. Part of me really wants to get an old, but sound dinosaur and make it a project, but I need to resist the urge as it would probably not get done and just take up space!
Takisawa, that is a good point with the travel arrangements. My dad does drive, and we weren't thinking of going that far, just opening up the options for some family breaks, so he'd probably be happy enough to drive too if we weren't travelling for hours on end. OH has been looking at old 7 seat Landrovers as an option. I'm sure we will have to think of storage too if we did go down this road.
But thanks everyone else too for the feedback and suggestions. I'm not finding it so easy to pop in at the mo with the children home, so sorry if I haven't kept up!
