Well we are here in Sunny and erm showery Chertsey - very nice site, loads to do in the area but lovely and peaceful apart from the odd Boeing passing overhead!

First tow went really well I was actually scared in the car when we first set off as it does all seem a bit tricky but OH was a bit of a master really and did really well - we didn't get beeped, cut up or shown the finger or fist once!  My Smax towed really well but OH is looking forward to towing with his more powerful company car when it gets exchanged in November (free petrol too then as his personal mileage is included).

We arrived later than expected at around 7pm & setting up at site was a bit of a fandango soo much needing our full concentration as it was the first time for the elec, gas, lights, aquaroll, waste pipes, wheel locks, water heater and on and on whilst we also had to get two hungry & tired children tea & into bed.  The awning was a laugh - & we thought this would be the doddle as we are experienced tenters but oh no this was a different beast altogether!  We ended up falling into bed after just about summoning up the energy to actually make it at around 11.30pm having skipped our own dinner & the awning just about secured with poles in completely the wrong place.

This morning after a good nights rest we sorted the awning pretty quickly, had a relaxing morning & took the children swimming & went out for dinner. I'm now in the awning under the gentle heat of a halogen heater with a nice glass of rose - this is what life is about!  Tomorrow its hard hats on and off to Legoland...

Everything works as it should do & we are certainly exceptionally pleased with our purchase!!

Good for you and trust me it does become easier and quicker, hope the heater doesn't melt the awning

Funny you should ask that - this is why I have wifi we are supposed to be going through the journey to and from Lake Garda to see if we taking the caravan would be feasible (but I've nabbed it to come on here).  The awning would be great though its a Bradcot Active which is very light and all the panels zip out so perfect for hot weather - although thats not a justifiable reason on its own to take the caravan all that way of course

We did our first trip in April, since then we have been away 4 more times.  The first time putting the awning up was 'interesting' but since then it has become a lot easier.  It really is amaziing how quickly it all comes together and you find your own 'rhythm'.  enjoy your trip and just remember to relax and take your time when packing up.  Have a safe tow home  I notice your from Cheshire...thats a long way to go for a first tow...well done, very brave

Ahh well done on your 1st erection!  It does get a lot easier once you know how it all goes up.  We'd just got used to putting our old one up when we went and bought our new 'van and got a new awning to work out lol.

Have fun at legoland and the rest of your stay :)
