In Feb this year whilst away in the caravan, we placed one of those moiture crystal things in the caravan, as whilst we we using it we had condensation on the windows in the morning.
The van has since been used a couple of times, and today whilst getting it ready for going away tomorrow, we noticed that it is a 1/4 full of water, would this be an indicater that the caravan had got damp in it or am I worrying over nothing?
Thanks in advance for any comments or thoughts received.
I would say you are worrying over nothing. The moisture traps will remove airborne moisture i.e condensation. Damp is water trapped in the structure of the van, and its unlikely that these crystals would remove any moisture from there. It has been rather warm and muggy of late, and warm air holds more moisture. Try opening a few windows to vent out the van occasionally.
We had the same in our van and worried like mad. But we had a damp check done with the service that came back with 0%. It was just the crystals doing their job.

I agree with Ian , we have just had our first service on our van and it came back with a clean bill of health ( even had an independent damp check done by a friend who is a caravan technician ), just in case ha ha .
We keep 2 of those moisture absorbers in our van which both had water in them.
Hope that puts your mind at rest
Sorry to pinch your thread but the damp question just reminded me.... Today I noticed the back lights on my caravan has got condensation inside them, does this mean there could be damp somewhere ??
