Puzzled as to how that will work if a gas cylinder is to be part of the MIRO.

WHICH gas cylinder will it be, there are several sizes and types?

And what about the battery?

Is there a link to this new rule somewhere?

I can see total confusion reigning when that comes into effect!

Using "ex-works" and "maximum weight" only would seem simpler to me.

The best thing to do is to put all the equipment that you think should be classed as essential into the van and then weigh it then you know how much you have left for you personal payload
Gas cylinders ,& battery are not included in the MIRO

Do not worry about habitation equipment weight you only have to worry about not exceeding the MTPLM
