I too do not have anyone else to consider, and the cat will never complain about the dog and I going camping!
I share Jelboy's sentiment about the need to consider the other half's feelings though, as time spent away on your own means less time with your OH, and resentments could build up and eventually comes to a boil etc...
Been there, done that, got the t-shirt so to speak with one divorce behind me, as my ex-hubby and I were spending more and more time apart, him with work, me driving alloever Europe on car rallies etc...

Hi all, I have been away on my own for a few days brake, wife in wheel chair now and cant get into van,and think she likes a few days brake from me,so the aunt can stay and have a good natter with her, I tend to only take 2 to 4 days max,and it gives me a wee brake to re charge my batteries,I tend to got to sites near the sea, lochs,or rivers, and that have a pub near by, i can watch TV, do a bit of fishing, have a drink, read,a chat to other campers,do some sight seeing, and just totaly relax, cant beat the sound of lapping water for that, sometimes dont even cook, just eat out, think im getting lazy, first trip out was a bit daunting though,(no pets, totaly solo) but like everything else you get use to it,and can be a lot of fun,no one else to consider, where shall we go,what will we do to day, when solo and some place or activity turns out to be a bit of a disaster, say to myself tried that, will know next time, and is always an experience when reminisceing .so for anyone who wishes to try solo, have a few days try a few times, it not as bat as you fear, keep camping.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.
John
