Shake it about in the water , usually works for me .switch off pump, then on again , and same with taps, open and close, it gets through in the end .

If i remember correctly Whale recommend that before inserting the pump into the water container it is advisable to vent the pump. Simply remvove the pump connection from the van, insert the pump into the water cont, and hold the hose upright for a 10 seconds, this will allow the pump to fill up pushing any air out, then, plug it back into the van, make sure the bend in the pipe is not too high, as air can get trapped in there.

Batteries (including leisure types) are not designed nor have the capacity to run fridges for a long term. The fridge should be run off the car's 12V system while travelling. Sounds like the battery has been exhausted. Need to run the fridge on gas or mains electricity.

Hi Inner Zone, 12V DC on fridge only keeps the fridge from thawing out when travelling, use the eletric for fridge or run it off the gas, on my fridge there are 3 switches and 2 temprature control knobs, 1rst switch on L/Hand side of fridge is the 12V supply, switch that off, 2nd one is AC for fridge, switch that on, temprature control next to it,( there should be a Main switch (fused) for AC to fridge, mine is in cuttlery tray under drain board (that must be on), If running fridge off gas, on mine gas control knob on far right with the gas ignition switch,( Open fridge door press in the gas control knob and turn it to the ignite sign, switch on the gas igniter switch and leave on, it will spark continualy till gas ignites, and can be checked by looking into the small round inspection glass inside the fridge at bottom, when gas lit igniter will stop sparking( fridge is running normal), ps, ( if gas fails the igniter will again spark continualy), hope this helps your daughter get it going.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.

Hi, Thanks to all that sent help & advice the good news is the water is now working, the not so good news is the fridge has packed up, it is running off the battery which is fully charged and the fuses are OK, Any suggestions? ( Please don`t tell me to get a new van ) I can`t afford one.LOL Thanks Again for all your Help Phil
IM not sure re older caravans but on my van (98)the 12v supply to the fridge only works when the connected to the car & the engine is running above 1300rpm & then it only maintaines the tempeture if I have previously used it on 240v 0r gas. I do not think any caravan fridges are designed to work direct from the van battery

Hi few days on from the fridge prob, did you get it all sorted out? If I'd seen earlier, I would have suggested (if can't run on gas for any reason) getting min. of 4 cheap freezer blocks, getting them frozen at a local store/shop/facilities on site and using fridge as freezer box. You need two or more for each day to keep things cool, that's why I suggested a min. of 4 as you will need to keep changing them over at the end of the day.
They usually offer tis facility for tenters, so you might just be lucky if you're on a site which does take campers.
